Sebastián Domínguez, a guitarist originally from Mexico City who has studied the instrument for more than 15 years. After being introduced to the Blues tradition, he specializes in Jazz, a genre he is currently developing. He studied music focused on Jazz at the Escuela Superior de Música del Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes in Mexico City (2006-2009).
In 2010 he moved to the city of Barcelona (Spain) to continue his studies in Jazz Guitar at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC). He settled in Barcelona until 2014, year in which he graduated from ESMUC.
In 2011 he creates Sebastián Domínguez Trio, a project developed in the city of Barcelona, which has been presented in important venues such as the Jamboree Jazz Club and L’Auditori de Barcelona. This trio was founder and promoter of the Jam Session Carmelitas, a reference in the jazz and live music scene in the Catalan capital.
In 2012 he creates “DUMA Quartet”, an original music project developed in Barcelona, with which he records “Deingo” (2014), an album of original music with: Claudio Marrero, Manel Fortià and Daniel González. This project has been presented in Barcelona stages such as: Jamboree Jazz Club, Festival Música als Parcs, L’Auditori de Barcelona and the Festival de Jazz a les Arenes.
